Turda Salt mine Lake

Today you will explore Cluj-Napoca, a cultural and historical jewel of Transylvania. Over the centuries, the city has been shaped by Romanian, Hungarian, and Saxon influences. Walk through its charming Old Town, where Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture reflect its long and diverse past. Visit key landmarks such as St. Michael’s Church, Banffy Palace, and the Matthias Corvinus House, the birthplace of Hungary’s renowned king. After the city tour, continue to the Turda Salt Mine. With a history spanning over 2,000 years, this former mine has been transformed into a unique underground attraction. Discover its maze-like tunnels and vast chambers, featuring striking salt formations, underground lakes, and even an amphitheatre carved into the rock. Return to your hotel in Cluj-Napoca. (B)

Sighisoara - medieval festival

As you take in the scenic landscapes of Transylvania, you will arrive in Sighișoara, the best-preserved medieval citadel in Romania. Known as the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler—who inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula—the town is rich in history and character. One of its most iconic landmarks is the Clock Tower, a symbol of its medieval heritage, where visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding area. The historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features cobbled streets, colourful houses, and well-preserved architecture that transports visitors back in time. During the walking tour, you will pause to enjoy a tasting of traditional brandy at a local producer. Return to Cluj-Napoca for overnight stay. (B)
